Volunteer Opportunities
Firefighters
We are looking for community members interested in learning interior and exterior firefighting. We also have chauffer (driver), pump operator, fire police, public educator, and junior firefighter positions available. Residents of any age, gender, and abilities are encouraged to apply!
Social Members
Our department is 100% donation funded. We are looking for social members dedicated to helping the department meet its mission of keeping residents educated and safe. We need community members interested in fundraising, carnival support, and committees members.
POCONO PROUD
The Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company was once a single-service volunteer entity created in 1925. The responsibility of the fire service was fire suppression. As of 2022 we have evolved into a two station 100% volunteer emergency service that provides fire protection, fire prevention education, fire plan review, and a multitude of specialized rescue services unique to our area. Any of these services may be needed at any given time, and we must be ready to adequately perform these services at a moment's notice. We are given resources by the community, and in turn, we take the responsibility to provide these services professionally through continued training and education of our members.
